IT STARTED WITH JUST ONE THOUGHT. One idea. What if women were portrayed as they are: insecurities, doubts, triumphs, liberations, ups, downs, strength, independence, all in photographic form. It was a project that continues to remain a source of inspiration and one that challenges my thoughts and feelings on a daily basis.
Every day there are successful, intelligent women waiting by the phone even though they promised themselves they wouldn't. Every day there are women conquering their fears and achieving the impossible. This collection strives to celebrate all that women are without judgement and hopefully with a little bit of laughter.

Karen lives with her husband and two sons in the seaside community of Boundary Bay, BC. Since her childhood, she has been captivated to creativity and beauty, and has had a special interest in photography and inspirational quotations.
As an adult, Karen began to craft her own gifts and cards for friends and family, who encouraged her to consider her artistry as a vocation. And, when a neighbour requested photo cards to sell in her gift shop, Karen's daydream* of creating full time began to come true.
Her passion for travel and exploring nature (with camera in hand) are echoed in her varied greeting card & magnet designs - some of which feature her family, pets and friends.
Since debuting a small collection of greeting cards in September 2006, Karen has added numerous new designs and is excited for what the future holds.

We have recently started carrying "Wonderful Wacky Women", a line created by an inspiring lady named Suzy Toronto. The "She Who" concept started over a decade ago when her youngest son Chase, who is adopted asked her, "Mommy who is she that grew me in her tummy?" She began to draw a picture of a faceless woman with a round tummy, which later turned into "She who is with child". She let Chase imagine what her face looked like. From there she went on to create a full line including, the "Tingle Heart" collection, "Gathering of the Goddesses", "Suzy Says", "More Than..", and "Diva's of the Deep". These inspiring, uplifting, and empowering art, poems and one-liners will make you laugh and cry.
We carry 8 x 10 prints, luggage tags, magnets, memo pads, and mouse pads featuring the "Wonderful Wacky Women."

Over the years I've often heard my husband, Mark, remind our children that what we say about someone often reveals more about the speaker than is does about the subject. I think the same is true of art. Each time I paint I'm making choices about what I find meaningful, how I view the world, how I wish the world to be. Painting is a way in which I focus and distill my perception of reality, emphasizing some aspects while ignoring others altogether. Painting are the world in which I play. I choose for it to be bright and varied. I prefer vivid rather than drab, joy rather than anguish. I choose the intimacy of the individual to the anonymity of the crowd, and prefer decency to dialectic. My heroes have never appeared on a Wheaties box, though three of them live in my home. I listen to John Lennon's "Imagine" as a mantra of faith, and turn on Fiddler on the Roof just to hear Tevya affirm "To Life!" I paint. I choose. L'chaim!

Lawire Dignan
In 1987, life experiences caused the artist to focus inward, seeking ways of self expression. From this point on, his own style of pointillism and line drawing has been developing. He has always fostered an interest in the arts and has been encouraged through the artistic community.
The contrast of natural and technical is very apparent in Dignans’ pieces. The subject matter is derived in part from photographs, natural landscapes and life experience which are then rendered into his own stylized reflections. The pen and ink pieces become a filtration of those influences and like the artist, express a freedom and emotion that is orderly and controlled. Trees take on an architectural essence while the organic forms merge effortlessly with the hard-edged elements on the paper surface.
Lawrie has participated in numerous juried art shows across the province, and was awarded a solo show in Fort St. John at the B.C. festival of the Arts in 2001. His work hangs in private collections worldwide.
We carry his pontillism cards and matted and un-matted prints in three sizes - 5x7 8x10 11x15.

The Baba Tree Basket Company’s founder, Gregory ‘Ayinedollah’ MacCarthy has been traveling to and living in Ghana since winter 1999.
The Baba Tree’s world headquarters are based in Bolgatanga in Ghana’s Upper East Region where Gregory is surrounded by a beloved team of endearingly dedicated employees who suffer his presence daily. Not least, in this collection of great associates, is one of his heroes—his beleaguered right hand man Ibrahim Dramani Samadu, otherwise known as "Old man" but more often than not affectionately referred to as "Olu." He is a warrior of the spirit and has the weaver’s best interest at heart which is exceedingly rare in the Bolga basket industry.
Arriving at The Baba Tree’s compound every day are dozens, sometimes hundreds, of weavers—men, women, children and students—many of whom The Baba Tree has been working with for years. These are the people that butter our bread and must be compensated more fully for their artistry if Bolgatanga has any chance of developing.

Suzy Batiz is a highly creative type with a flair for business invention.
